Pretending

Holden goes around the house making a noise. It’s a swishy, cheek-sucking, blowing kind of noise, often accompanied by a tuneless hum. When you ask him what he’s pretending, the answers may be any of the following:
1. I’m a (train) engine!
2. A volcano! Pwoosh!
3. I’m a storm! (followed by Wizard Of Oz-like tornadic destruction)
4. I’m a robot! Cheese! Cheese! Cheese! (what?)
5. I’m not anything. I’m just a little boy!
Ideas without execution

I had a dream the other night that I thought would amuse my husband. So I told him about it. After he enjoyed, his comment was, “Are you going to write it?”
“What?”
“Turn it into a story.”
I said, “I guess I could,”
It would be an erotica short story and, as dreams have a tendency to fade out, I don’t know how it ends. I mean, I assume it would end as any erotica story would but all I got from the dream is a premise and set-up… which is enough to get started.
However, I haven’t written any significant amount of erotica since Zoe was born. It’s one thing to get into writing a lit fic novel or short story. It’s another to get in and out of an erotica story. It’s hard to get in the proper mood, to know if the story “works” when a four year old is handing you pretend pieces of toast for you to “put in your tummy ’cause it’s yummy good.”
My erotica dream featured a cameo by Wayne Knight. That alone makes it worth committing to paper.
Of course, Nine came from a dream as well. Maybe I should work on that.
In any case, the bus comes in 40 minutes and after that, Zoe has homework that, best case scenario, will take half an hour (if she’s particularly grumpy & give-up-y, it’ll be over an hour).

As some of you may recall, I blogged last summer about finding my biological half-sister/doppelgänger online. Recently Callie has found some other online tidbits, possibly including my bio-father’s retirement write-up in the Johnstown paper (which I totally missed b/c I hate their pop-under so I don’t read beyond their front page). I’m not sure it’s the right guy. The name matches but there’s another detail that doesn’t. More

This is a topic I’ve been thinking about and I just saw a tweet that made me decide to sit & write it. The tweet by @burghbaby (Burgh Baby blog)* is:
Someone emailed me to yell at me for commenting on their “private” blog. That’s public and had a link to me. Reason 23 I stopped commenting.
I’ve been thinking lately about the trend toward private blogging. More

in Ooh! Shiny!
Just wanted to say that I don’t yet have the content (or giveaway item) for the blog stop that’s supposed to be here. Soon as I get it, there’ll be some nice content for you in this spot.
